Roland Davis wins 4th
National Competition Award in '08

Winner of 4 coveted National
Competition awards, Downbeat awards, and an ASCAP Classical
Composition award, Roland graduated valedictorian, with
Highest Honors and simultaneous degrees in Philosophy and Classical Composition
from the University of Hawaii and has 3 Masters Degrees from the prestigious New England
Conservatory of Music.
A Presser Scholar and
an All American Scholar, he has won over 30 awards and scholarships in
Philosophy and Music including two Composer of the Year Awards, Phi Beta Kappa,
Philosophy Departmental Award, Bud Shank Scholarship, and others, all while
performing and teaching in 12 countries and his home: Hawaii

Roland conducts
the premiere of "Dream
Corridor Suite"
an original composition for string orchestra, jazz orchestra, and voice
in the famous Jordan Hall.
The award winning
poet Lea C. DeSchenes
commissioned the piece and
performed the
dramatic speaking part.
